It is the dawn of an age of digital wizardry and in this modern era gadgets seem to surge in song, congealing in an amalgamation of buzzes, beeps and blips. The pulsing of machines and pounding of concrete and steel in symphonic collage power our world. J.WAIL along with Chuck Morris of Lotus rise to the call of the sonic traffic controller, poised behind a palette of electronic devices, guitar, booming bass, and live drums. The dance floor becomes the launch pad where the duo fuses live instrumentation with organic electronica, propelling mind, soul, and booty into the upper stratosphere of sound. In the resonance of music and technology, they meld the sounds of tomorrow with the power of now into a bumping party anthem for modern mankind. J.WAIL's enthusiasm and strong desire to share and spread music has earned them a reputation as one of the hardest-working artists in the touring industry. J Wail's tours have logged countless road miles with hundreds of club/theater dates and festivals performed on all corners of the North America. Melting into the DJ-based dance sound into the approach of a live band, J.WAIL creates "club-funk-glitch-rock" through innovative techniques using live guitar, live drums, vocals, synthesizers, and live electronics. J.Wail's unique styles and techniques combined with the dance all night sounds of Chuck Morris infuse the audience with a dose of live electro funk euphoria.
Also, don't forget to check out J.Wail on Friday, July 15 at Taos Solar Center!

Have you heard? Albuquerque's very own Kevin Vigil will be the featured live painter at Friday morning's Chompdown in RV Reserved. The painting(s) will be donated to The St. Bernards, and 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Joplin, MO and surrounding areas' disaster relief efforts. You may remember Kevin from the excellent work he's done and auctioned off at nearly every Jams of Enchantment event!
This festival is always a great time, and this year will be no exception!

Imagine the brainchild of Dr. Seuss, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Stanley Kubrick and Rube Goldberg, and you begin to understand the spectacle of a That 1 Guy performance by Berkeley, CA-based, classically trained musician Mike Silverman. As inventor and player of The Magic Pipe, That 1 Guy’s show has to be seen to be believed, as he single-handedly (and foot-edly) plays his amazing instrument, made out of miked steel pipes with a single, thick bass string wired from top to bottom, not to mention an Appalachian handsaw, an electric cowboy boot and belching smoke. Combining elements of classical music with electronica, Silverman puts his classical training to good use creating music that is ethereal, gothic and heart pounding.
The guys in The Band of Heathens are fond of saying they became a unit by accident. But that's like saying the Big Bang was an accident. Unplanned, maybe, but hardly random. One might even argue that a kind of destiny was involved. The merger of singer/songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Ed Jurdi, Gordy Quist and Colin Brooks, with bassist Seth Whitney and drummer John Chipman, from their respective solo careers and bands may not be akin to a cosmic explosion, but their new album, One Foot in the Ether, offers irrefutable evidence that they were meant to be together—and have evolved into a solid entity worthy of the comparisons they receive to the Black Crowes, the Band and Little Feat.

From a pressure cooker of rhythm, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe brings forth the most delicious variety of grooves ever sampled by a listener’s feet. The menu has been expanding since its inception in 1998. Led by Karl Denson, who over the past 15 years has collaborated with such luminaries as Lenny Kravitz, Fred Wesley, and The Greyboy Allstars, the Tiny Universe creates a dynamic sound that defies categorization. The band members, Denson (on vocals, sax, and flute), Brian Jordan (guitarist), Chris Stillwell (bassist), David Veith (keyboard player), Chris Littlefield (trumpet player), and John Staten (drummer), have earned a reputation as kings of the unstoppable all-night show.

(the first Saturday after Thanksgiving)
Admission to the show is free with five cans of food or other non-perishable items from the list posted at Last to Know's website. Cover charge without gift or canned food is $7. The Station Bar opens at 5:00pm.

Hill Country Revue represents neo-southern blues-rock with a harder, faster edge. Formed by Cody Dickinson from the North Mississippi Allstars, the band released their debut album, Make a Move, in May 2009. The album showed off the band’s deep-south blues roots and penchant for Southern Rock; instantly drawing comparisons to early Allman Brothers. Anchored by their blistering live show, Hill Country Revue quickly established a reputation as THE modern Southern Rock / Blues band for the next generation.
In October 2010, the band will release their much-anticipated follow up to Make A Move. The new album, entitled Zebra Ranch, captures the band refining their gritty, blues/rock sound to perfection. "This record is pure country blues and Hill Country Rock," says Cody Dickinson "no gimmick, no tricks – straight up music from the heart. We want each person who listens to Zebra Ranch to love it as much as we do.

A high-energy surrealist global-groove alternative big band propelled by electric bass, diverse percussion ensemble, and brassy horn section. Visually enhanced by costumed dancing beauties, acrobatic stilt walkers, fire, and theatrics, the Portland, OR-based MarchFourth Marching Band invokes dancing in the streets and beyond! MarchFourth writes and performs its own material and also draws inspiration from an eclectic range of worldwide influences such as Eastern European Gypsy Brass, Samba, Funk, Afro-Beat, Big-Band, Jazz, and Rock music as well as television, film, circus, and Vaudeville.

Never a group to be pigeonholed, Lotus brings many musical weapons to the stage. From festival stages such as Rothbury, Wakarusa and Red Rocks to theaters across the country the band has left grinning crowds dripping with sweat. Equal parts dance and rock, Lotus has been crafting a unique brand of instrumental rock for the past decade.
Their latest release Oil on Glass/Feather on Wood "proves that no words are needed to elicit any feelings, the instrumentals alone are enough to connote a myriad of emotions." The dual EPs show the multiple sides of Lotus with Feather on Wood showcasing slow-building guitar driven compositions and Oil on Glass leaning toward harder beats and textures. Like a Lotus show, the two sides work together to form a cohesive whole.
The big light show and pounding beats may be club inspired, but the band's ability to connect with the audience through emotive composition and dynamic improvisation pushes performances past the elusive barrier dividing concert and experience.
The Grateful Dead were enjoying a late-career renaissance in 1989 when the band steamed into Philadelphia on one of the hottest days of the summer to play the last concert ever at John F. Kennedy Stadium. The July 7 show in the City of Brotherly Love highlights the band’s exuberant resurgence, a peak that rivals any that came before it.

You’ve heard it said a thousand times, but this has never been more true: "Umphrey’s McGee is the band that need no introduction." They are masters of the cover tune, pioneers of live on-stage songwriting, sit-in host extraordinaires, and the most seriously fun band to hit the scene!
So, all partyin’ peeps: get out of your triple wide and off your front porch. Get in the van and go pick yourself up a couple of (what?) 40’s. Cut the red tape, gather up your Uncle Wally, Professor Wormbog, Nemo, your 2nd self, your friends, and even your syncopated strangers, and make a resolution to be in the kitchen and at the rock show tonight. We'd be much obliged if you’d join us for this historic event.
Remember when she rocked our collective faces off at the Taos Mountain Music Festival? And then she sat in with Gov't Mule for "That's What Love Will Make You Do"?
