Hi,

Come to the next meeting for a chance to get VIP camping and festival tickets for WAKARUSA!  You heard right!  Central Plains Jam Society “The Saint Bernards offered J.O.E. members a chance to experience the good life as a VIP’s at Wakarusa Music Festival!  The dates of the festival are June 3-6, and of course you need to figure in travel time to Ozark Arkansas.  In return for these incredible tickets, you must work as a “good times liaison” to the festival.  You will work (if you can call it work) two 6-8-hour shifts.  Central Plains Jam Society asked us to clarify on one point.  Of course you will be at the festival to have fun, but you will be expected to work the shifts you are assigned, so you might not get to see your favorite band.  Of course, your co-workers are all music lovers and will work with you to try and get you to all the sets you want to see, but if you accept a free ticket, your responsibility to CPJS must be your first priority at the festival.  Liaisons will be on bicycles this year instead of gas-powered carts, so if you’re going, you’d better put on those training wheels on build up those muscles!  This VIP package includes shaded VIP camping with indoor restrooms and showers, meals, and beer (all you can drink: FREE except when you're on duty), and a front viewing VIP area.  As a good times liaison, you will be allowed to arrive as early as Wednesday, June 2, which always guarantees a prime shaded camping enclave.  You have to be a genuine, bona fide dues-paying member of Jams of Enchantment to shoot for one of these tickets, and priority will be given to members who have donated larger amounts.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2 at Low Spirits.  The evening will begin with a CD trade at 6:30, so bring three (or more) CD's or more to trade for three (or more) new ones!  Most JOE traders are "newbie-friendly," so if you don't have any music to share, bring some blank CD's and we'll do our best to make sure everybody leaves with some great new music!  The gavel will bang to start the "official" meeting at 7:00 PM.  But because our president and treasurer are both out of town on important club business (attending moe., STS9, and other events out-of-state), we’re running on a skeleton crew.

If you are new to this community, welcome!  Everyone is invited to attend the next meeting.  If you are receiving this as a forward, please shoot us an e-mail at jamsofenchantment@gmail.com so we can get your name on the list.  We don’t want to scare you away right off the bat, but we strongly encourage you to contribute some money to the organization, even if you can only give a little bit.  You are welcome to give cash or check to Jay (our Treasurer) at the meeting, or remit to:

But, even if you’re broke, you and your ideas are welcome at our meetings.

We just heard that The BrownChicken BrownCow String Band will play yet another show at The Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Santa Fe on Wednesday, March 4!  With all that was going on last weekend, we know that a lot of people didn’t get to sample the joy that is BrownChicken BrownCow on Saturday night.  Dave Payne of The Saltine Ramblers says “if you missed last night, what were you thinking?!  You must atone for
your lapses in judgment by going to one or both of these upcoming shows.  These
guys are top-notch musicians and [song] writers and it's great that they are coming to
this part of the country as often as they are.  The style of music is truly
unique and the fiddling is jaw-dropping!”  Jams of Enchantment couldn’t agree more!

Don’t forget to be at The Mountain High Bar in Cedar Crest, next Saturday night, March 6!  We're calling this one “The Broken String Summit.”  The BrownChicken BrownCow String Band will perform on their own and with special guest musicians from New Mexico.  If you were at Road to Rich's last year, you know that these guys LOVE to JAM ALL NIGHT and can party with the best of them!  This event is designed to raise money for these humble and hard-working musicians to pay for strings.  BrownChicken BrownCow String Band spent $3,500 on strings in 2009 alone!  The suggested donation is $10, but Jams of Enchantment will cover you if you can't afford that.  Beg or borrow if you have to (don't steal, though) and be there!  You don't want to miss this!

With all that’s been going on in the world of Jams of Enchantment, we may have missed the boat on The Emmitt-Nershi Band, scheduled to play The Pub and Grill at The Santa Fe Brewing Company on Wednesday, March 10.

Euforquestra is all set to play at The Historic El Rey Theater on March 26.  Jams of Enchantment is very excited about this, but the excitement hasn’t exactly started a fire just yet.  We need volunteers to pull street team duty for this show (once we have promotional material, that is).
